The antumbra is a region in an astronomical event where a smaller occluding body appears entirely contained within the disc of the light source. In the region of the antumbra, you will see the outer rim of the light source around the object casting the shadow.
Österholm has collected gelatin based daylight filters from museum displays, filters that have been faded by their extensive use in converting light from one color temperature to another. Using stacks of these faded filters as photographic material Österholm lets light itself conjure up images of faraway celestial events.
